Our foundations of personal finance elective is a great opportunity for students to begin to understand how money works, and begin to develop wise money habits  early in life. The curriculum covers:

Biblical Worldview

Veritas Academy approaches all of its teaching from a Biblical worldview. Therefore, our values and attitudes associated with personal finance are shaped by a Biblical worldview. As such, we recognize that the nature and source of knowledge is God’s revelation, both general and specific. He [God] is before all things, and in him all things hold together ( Col. 1:17 New International Version). The following statements are critical to our approach in teaching personal finance:

  • All we have belongs to God (Deuteronomy 10:14, Psalm 89:11)
  • We must not be mastered by our money (Matthew 6:24)
  • A basic education includes a fundamental understanding of financial responsibility as well as Biblical stewardship (1 Kings 4:29-34, Luke 3:11-14)
