Classical education is a highly effective methodology based on three distinct learning states. First, the Grammar stage is comprised of systematically laying the foundations. Then the Logic stage in which students learn to think through arguments.  And finally, the Rhetoric stage in which students learn to express their thoughts with conviction and originality. This produces graduates that are deep thinking, articulate and well-rounded.

Our education begins with acknowledging all authoritative standards regarding beauty, goodness – the essence of classical education – are revealed in and should be drawn from the Bible. Veritas is classical Christian school and therefore the Bible is part of our curriculum.  Biblical standards of conduct are applied in all arenas of school life, acknowledging that Jesus Christ is Lord of all.

While ACCS member schools (Veritas included) graduates score above all other types of school – public, religious, and even independent – in ACT and SAT tests, our goals are aimed higher than the making of more professionals and proletariats. The purpose of studying Latin, for example, is neither to increase test scores, nor to produce “professional” Latinists. It is to be a lover of God through a beautiful language that happens to have already shaped and formed our thoughts before we are even conscious of them.
