Our Campus

The term Academy is generally defined as a society or institution of distinguished scholars and artists or scientists that aims to promote and maintain standards in its particular field. Merriam Webster further defines the term as a society of learned persons organized to advance art, science, or literature. As articulated in our vision statement, we at Veritas Academy, are cultivating young minds to build strong nations. We are establishing and equipping the next generation to lead with clarity and virtue. Our methods and content teach them to think clearly, cultivate wisdom and understanding, and eventually become mature adults who value truth, acknowledge God’s beauty, and do good. C.S. Lewis believed that an education must be rooted in holiness. He warned that “Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man into a clever devil.” Therefore, instilling truth, beauty and goodness are germane to our mission. As such, every space and every item within each space supports the mission and vision of classical Christian education. We’d love to invite you to come visit our school as we continue to transform this former hospital into an academy imbued with a classical aesthetic. Program Overview

John Adams Center

The John Adams Center is home to our Ciaffoni Music Studios, the Global Learning Center, Student Business Center, the Florence Nightingale Sick Bay where sick children can be attended to as they wait to be picked up by parents, and miscellaneous administration offices. Honoring our teachers, we have reserved offices for those who teach part time, giving them a place to catch up on personal work as they wait to teach, or hold office hours for students. The Student Business Center includes the office for the school newspaper, GECKO Happenings, as well as the Yearbook office. Students learn professional skills as they grow into mature adults who will lead with clarity and virtue.

Socratic Center

The dual purpose Socratic Center is a great place for meetings. Conveniently located close to the admissions office, it is a great place to meet with prospective families. It is also where our students practice the art of argument and debate important issues. Tables can be moved around for instructor-led seating or for collaborative. The space includes a private bathroom, a counter space for serving refreshments and a display table for literature. Its close proximity to the main entrance makes it ideal for meetings for community members who wish to rent the space.

The Sanctum

The Sanctum is a sacred place where students begin their day. It is also where we hold our weekly chapel service. This spacious area has a special place called The Inner Sanctum where the younger students wait for the school day to begin as they rest on bean bags and couches and read quietly, or connect with their peers, or wait for their parents at the end of the day. Chapel guests can relax at the Bet Av Lounge or utilize the Aeropagus Conference Room for special meetings. Tucked away in the back of the Sanctum is the spacious Paideia Place with video conferencing equipment, large classroom tables and a computer lab. Currently used by our rhetoric students for technology classes, the space is also available as a meeting space. The Spiritual Formation staff have their offices in this area, as well as a kitchen and dining space.

The Wise Center

Home of the humanities and classical languages, students take several classes including Latin, Greek and Hebrew in this space. Don’t let the photo deceive you; behind these tables is a comfortable sitting area with a couch and table and enough space to add additional tables. The Wise Center includes three additional break out rooms, making the space ideal for conference seminars. The program chair has his office there, as well as a private bathroom. Consistent with our decorating style, the museum-like pictures include information that promotes student learning.

The Stratford House

The Stratford Guest House is a place where parents of international students can stay when visiting their residential students. Featuring five Elizabethan Era themed bedrooms with queen size beds, bathrooms, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps, a sink, a closet, two chairs, the space is also ideal for retreats, or just a personal or group getaway. With a full Shakespeare collection, a comfortable living area, a kitchenette with a coffee maker, fridge, microwave and a full commercial kitchen around the corner, guests can enjoy a hotel-like experience without the hotel prices. During the summer, larger groups can reserve the space and utilize the additional 50 beds in our student dorm rooms. There is a public library across the street, a bike trail, a boat dock and a public beach close by. Plan your summer getaway by visiting our facility rental page today.

Because of Veritas Academy’s commitment to students, my children are motivated to learn, they are challenged at their skill level instead of being held back due to their ages.
